More than 60,000 Sri Lankans have been killed and more than 240 suicide bombings have been carried out as the result of the ethnic conflict between Sinhalese and Tamils that began in 1956.  Checkpoints are prevalent throughout the entire country. This is footage that I collected in the Tamil region of my country. Many of these children were either displaced or orphaned as a result of the conflict. My book contains the perspectives of both Tamils and Sinhalese.

One of the most valuable universally applicable lessons in my book is perhaps about mastering the art of unconditional love. My book features a Nepali man named Shib Sah who loved his wife unconditionally in spite of her birth defect and an all-American man, Jeremy Splinter who overcame his fear of love with the help of an unsuspecting partner.
